Milad Beigi Harchegani (born March 1, 1991 in Isfahan , Iran ) is a Taekwondoin born in Iran who has competed for Azerbaijan since 2015 . It starts in the weight class up to 80 kilograms.

Career

Beigi played his first international competition in 2014. Despite good results, he was not considered for the Iranian squad for the 2015 World Championships , whereupon Beigi switched to the Azerbaijani association. At the European Games he fought his way to the final, in which he defeated Albert Gaun 9: 4. The following year he became European champion with a final victory against Yunus Sari . He also won a qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . There he was defeated in the semifinals by Lutalo Muhammad 7:12 and prevailed against Piotr Paziński 12-0 in the battle for the bronze medal . In 2017 he became world champion for the first time in Muju after a 21: 3 final victory over Anton Kotkow . In 2019 he defended his title in Manchester .
