Milica Zulus

Milica Zulus (born August 31, 1999 in Vienna ) is an Austrian - Serbian violinist .

Life

Milica Zulus was born the daughter of pianist Nataša Veljković and began playing the violin at the age of four. She attended the Musikgymnasium Vienna and took lessons with Marina Sorokowa in the gifted class at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna , switched to the preparatory course in 2014 and passed the entrance exam for the Bachelor's degree in June 2015 at the age of 15 as by far the youngest of the 106 candidates “Concert subject violin”. Since October 2015 she has been a concert student of Gerhard Schulz at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

She took part in master classes with Vadim Gluzman , Zakhar Bron and Maja Jokanović in Belgrade and became known to the public through her performances all over Europe.

She has given numerous concerts at home and abroad and participated in competitions. For example, on May 13, 2010 she performed the 1st movement, Allegro moderato from the Concerto in G minor by Max Bruch and the Serbian Dance, Andante cantabile, Vivace by Aleksandar Vujić on the piano accompanied by her mother at the national competition “prima la musica ”in Feldkirch .

Zulus played her first solo concert under the direction of Aleksandar Pavlovič with the Camerata Serbica at the Sava Centar in Belgrade, where she also performed at concerts and festivals at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and at the Ilija M. Kolarac Endowment . Further concerts have taken her to the International Chopin Festival in Kartause Gaming (Austria), to the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation at the Moscow Theater Stanislawski, to the Teatro Malibran in Venice , the Croatian Music Institute, the Mozarteum in Salzburg and the Vienna Konzerthaus . Finally she took part as a soloist in the double concerto for two violins in D minor , BWV 1043 by Johann Sebastian Bach , under the direction of Jack Martin Handler .

  • 2011: 3rd prize at the international "Paul Hindemith Competition" in Berlin in the age group 12 to 14 years
