The Milstenau is a tributary of the Bigge , mainly running from north to south, in the area of the city of Attendorn in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Olpe .

It has its source around 1.5 km north of the town center in Holzweg , a district of the city of Attendorn . Between this and another brook there is the source area, the Milstenau-Bremgebach- Wasserscheide .
River path
The Milstenau reached after 2.1 km the district Milstenaus , 70 meters east of the district bends of the river to the southeast from, since they have a trickle has fed. A river kilometer later the town center of Attendorn is reached, from which it flows almost congruently through the border to Finnentrop . The Milstenau takes on several mountain streams on its way. To the east of the core town of Attendorn, the state roads L 853 and L 539 are crossed.
