Mimi Craven (born September 28, 1957 in Indianapolis , Indiana as Millicent Eleanor Meyer ) is an American actress and photographer .

Life

Craven graduated from Indiana University , where she majored in dance ( ballet ). She initially worked as a dance teacher in Indiana and Texas as well as a flight attendant and then met the filmmaker Wes Craven . The couple married in 1982, after which Craven embarked on an acting career in Los Angeles .

She made her screen debut in 1982 as Anton Arcane's secretary in Wes Cravens Das Ding aus dem Swamp . Further appearances in films by various directors followed, such as in Normality (1988), Mikey (1992), Last Gasp - The Death Curse (1995), Ice Cold Hug (1995) and Daddy's Girl (1996). She has also appeared as a guest actress in several television series, including Seinfeld (1992) and Star Trek: Spaceship Voyager (1999). Since her last film role as Ruth Wendorf in John Webb's 2002 horror drama Vampire Clan - Intoxicated by Blood , she has no longer appeared as an actress.

Craven has also been a photographer since the late 1990s. She graduated from the University of California for the profession and then began shooting celebrities, artists and other public figures such as Sharon Stone , Sam Elliott and Sasha Alexander . Her photographs have appeared in several US magazines such as Movieline , Us Weekly and People , as well as in the French magazine Paris Match , in the German women's magazine InStyle and in the British magazine Hello! . Her photos have also been used for several movie posters , such as Sony Pictures for Gloria and Good Vibrations - Sex from Another Star and Paramount Pictures for Bless This Child . She also illustrated Sharon Stone's book Something to Hold , which tells of the guardian angel in every human being.

Craven was married to the filmmaker Wes Craven from 1982 to 1987. She had another marriage with actor JD Hinton.
