Miriam Stockley (born April 15, 1962 in Johannesburg , South Africa ) is a British singer .

biography

During the late 1980s and early 1990s she was a session singer for the British production team Stock Aitken Waterman and took part in recordings for musicians such as Kylie Minogue , Jason Donovan and Sonia . Stockley took over the supporting voice in the contributions of Great Britain to the Eurovision Song Contest several times , namely in 1990 for Emma Booth and for Katrina and the Waves when she won the 1997 competition in Dublin.

Her song "Perfect Day", written by Colin Towns, was the theme song for the children's program The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends, which was broadcast on the BBC from 1992 to 1995 . From 1995 she was the singer of the first four albums of the music project Adiemus with Karl Jenkins . At The Art in Heaven Concert of Mike Oldfield of the millennium in Berlin Stockley live standing in front of about 600,000 spectators and was seen by 200 million on TV. In December 2006 she performed as a solo artist at the Nokia Night of the Proms and with Mike Oldfield.

Stockley is married with two children.
