Back to the Light (English for. " Back into the light ") is the 1992's second solo album by Brian May , guitarist of the British rock band Queen . Production of this album had already started in 1987. In the USA the album was released with a different cover and was released there by Hollywood Records instead of Parlophone.

Details on individual songs
- Parts of The Dark were created in 1980 while recording the Queens Flash Gordon soundtrack (recorded by Alan Douglas at Townhouse Studios ). Excerpts from this title were used in the 1994 computer game Rise of the Robots .
- Also Too Much Love Will Kill You was recorded in the late 1980s by Queen, but has not been published. In a newly recorded version (with Freddie Mercury's original vocals) the song appeared on the Queen album Made in Heaven (1995). This version won the 1997 Ivor Novello Award as the best song musically and lyrically.
- Let Your Heart Rule Your Head is a track he wrote and played for Lonnie Donegan's album Let Your Heart Rule Your Head (1989), but which was not released there.
- The song Just One Life is dedicated to Philip Sayer.
- Instrumental versions of Resurrection and Nothin 'But Blue was on the album The Drums Are Back of Cozy Powell released.
