Georgina Salt, 34, who lives in London , breaks up with her boyfriend Zak. She learns that in a few weeks she will be sterile due to a common illness in her family. Thereupon she hastily looks for a man who would fertilize her. Her friend Clem helps her find and later advises her on attempts to win Justin's favor. Meanwhile, Salt is looking for a sperm donor online.

Carina Chocano wrote in the Los Angeles Times on June 6, 2008 that the film suffered from a poor script and uninspired portrayals. He works like an "extended sitcom " .
Peter Debruge wrote in Variety magazine on June 3, 2008 that the film was miscast and miscalculated and predictable. It shows the least believable view of pregnancy since junior with Arnold Schwarzenegger .

The film was shot in London and Northern Ireland and the working title was Buy Borrow Steal . Its production cost was estimated to be six million US dollars . The world premiere took place on February 8, 2008 at the European Film Market of the 58th Berlinale . This was followed by screenings at the Miami Film Festival in March 2008 and the Belfast Film Festival in April 2008. In the United States, it was only shown in selected cinemas in Los Angeles in June 2008 and the US DVD was released on August 5, 2008 The DVD was released in Germany on June 11, 2009.
