Background information

After the song Disappear by the No Angels only landed in 23rd place with 14 points last year , the NDR decided to put together its own jury instead of an official preliminary decision with audience participation. Care was taken to ensure that the authors and artists behind the song were not revealed to the jury. This jury consisted of Guildo Horn , Peter Urban , Heinz Canibol and Thomas Schreiber , among others .

Here the song Miss Kiss Kiss Bang was selected. The song premiered at the 2009 Echo Awards on February 21, 2009.

The music video

The official music video shows Oscar Loya and Alex Christensen driving around in a Ford Thunderbird . This is where they eventually appear and meet many beautiful women with whom they dance. Next to it, newspaper articles are displayed about the success of Alex Swings Oscar Sings! to report.

Eurovision Song Contest 2009

The appearance of Alex Swings Oscar Sings! was supported by the New Burlesque artist Dita Von Teese . She announced the following on her website in advance:

"It will get hot, but hot within a reasonable range."

However, the European Broadcasting Union already banned a pure striptease number at the dress rehearsal of the song. Thomas Schreiber, on the other hand, described the appearance of Dita Von Tesse as the wedding of artistic seduction.

At the main performance on May 16, 2009, Alex Christensen sat at the piano, the singer Oscar Loya appeared with an open shirt and was framed by two additional dancers. Finally, Dita Von Teese was announced by Alex Christensen, who until then had been sitting on a sofa and lolling on it. Eventually she seduced Oscar Loya to dance with the whip.

The song was able to achieve 35 points overall, which are made up as follows:
