Mob Town is an American crime film from 2019 by Danny A. Abeckaser about the so-called " Apalachin-Meeting ", a summit meeting of the American Cosa Nostra that was prematurely uncovered by law enforcement authorities in 1957 and confirmed the existence of the Italian-American mafia .

The film was released on December 13, 2019 in the United States in isolated theaters and via video-on-demand .

The powerful mafioso Vito Genovese of the Luciano family of New York City convenes a secret summit of the American Cosa Nostra in the rural town of Apalachin , New York on November 14, 1957 to discuss expansion plans. The policeman Edgar "Ed" Croswell thwarts Vito's plans and ensures that the meeting ends prematurely with a mass exodus of the gangsters present. Croswell's action reveals the existence of a national Italian-American criminal syndicate and changes the face of law enforcement permanently.

Under the working title Apalachin , the shooting of the film by Danny A. Abeckaser's production company 2bfilms began in August 2018 and took place in Newburgh , New York .

In March 2019 it was announced that Saban Films had acquired the distribution rights to Abeckaser's film and will publish it in the summer of 2019.
