Mohamed Hussein Roble comes from the Galmudug region and comes from a subclan of the Hawiya . He was appointed Prime Minister in September by the President of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed . It was nominated on September 18, 2020 and unanimously approved by the Federal Parliament of Somalia on September 23. He then presented his agenda in a speech to the Somali parliament.

Roble was scheduled to give a speech at a stadium in Gaalkacyo on December 18, 2020 . Minutes before his arrival, a suicide bomber blew himself up outside the stadium, killing seven civilians and three soldiers.

In September 2021, Mohamed Hussein accused Roble Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed of obstructing an investigation that led to the resignation of the NISA chief.

On December 27, 2021, Roble was sacked by President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, which sparked a government crisis. Mohamed accused Roble of corruption and abuse of office. Roble had confiscated land belonging to the Somali army for personal use. Robles' office denied the allegations, stating that Mohamed intended to take over the office of prime minister by force. Roble had previously been tasked with organizing the presidential election. Mohamed's term of office had already expired in February 2021, but the organization of new elections was delayed by Mohamed. Only after violent protests in April 2021 did Mohamed agree to forego a unilateral extension of his term of office by two years and instead no longer stand in the way of holding an election.
