Mona Stockhecke (born October 11, 1983 in Hamburg ) is a German long-distance runner and geographer .

Career

She made her marathon debut in 2002 at the Hamburg Marathon in a time of 3:51 hours. For the first time, she ran under 2:40 hours on October 28, 2012 at the Frankfurt Marathon , for which she needed 2: 38.18 hours. On April 21, 2013, she ran the Hamburg marathon in 2:36.50 hours and in September she came third in the 10 km road race at the German Athletics Championships in Bobingen .

She won the Zurich Marathon on April 6, 2014 in a time of 2: 34.04 h, which also meant qualifying for the marathon at the 2014 European Athletics Championships , where she was 10:30 minutes behind the winner finished 22nd with 2: 35.44 h.

In 2015 she finished twelfth in the Frankfurt Marathon with a time of 2:33:54 h, which also meant the German runner-up in the marathon.

At the German Athletics Championships in 2016 , she won the 10 km road race in the team competition together with Jana Sussmann and Agata Strausa . She came second in the marathon and won the marathon team championship with Denise Hoffmann and Nadine Hoffmann

At the Hamburg Marathon in April 2017 she was eighth in 2:36:36 h. In September at the German Athletics Championships 2017 , she was second in the 10 km road race in the team classification together with Sabrina Mockenhaupt and Jana Sussmann .
