Moni Francis (* in Olching ) is a German singer , singer-songwriter and music cabaret artist .

Life

Francis grew up as the middle of three children in Olching. At the age of six she was on stage and performed poems and songs. Her father gave her accordion lessons for three years. At the age of 13 she founded her first own ( rock 'n' roll ) band and first played the electric bass and then took over the vocals . At the age of 15 she toured Germany for two years with “Paul Adamek and the Birkenwälder Musikanten”. After an appearance with the band “Club of Rome” as a supporting act for “ Münchner Freiheit ”, she had her first record deal with CBS Records with “Angel & The Pack”. The records were produced by Micki Meuser and Grant Stevens .

At the age of 25 she went to the cabaret Die Meedels . In addition to tours, she was also represented with this formation on German television and appeared with Urban Priol , Henning Venske and Helge Schneider . In addition, had the Meedels two placements in the Liederbestenliste list of SWR .

She took on a role in the second part of the movie “ Neverending Story ”, was a show partner in an illusion and magic show, made a few short films, sang commercials and lent her voice to “Konrad, the cult chick” (Härter Verlag). This was followed by two tours through the USA with an Austrian polka band, a leading role in the children's musical “Wissens ihr Blauland” (based on the children's book by Tina Rau). She is a member of the vocal ensemble "The Sunbeams" of the big band Billy Gorlt. She also works as a studio singer.

In 2007 she founded the band "Moni Francis & The BeBops" with three colleagues from Buddy Olly, with whom she is still touring. In 2011 her music cabaret program "The Petticoat & Pomade Show" premiered. In July 2012 Moni Francis signed with her singer / songwriter duo “thinkable”, which consists of her and Olly, a contract with “7us Music Media Group”.

Moni Francis has two sons.
