Monique Prudhomme

Monique Prudhomme (born in Montreal , Canada ) is a Canadian, Oscar-nominated costume designer .

Life

Prudhomme has a BA in art and initially wanted to become a drawing teacher, but she didn't like the work. For this reason, she did an internship at Jean Beaudin's film Cordélia . In 1982 she moved from Montreal to Vancouver after falling in love with a man from Vancouver on one of the film sets. She has since worked on both film and television productions.

Nominations and Awards

In 2010 she was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Costume Design for her work on The Cabinet of Doctor Parnassus . She was also nominated twice for a Costume Designers Guild Award . 2008 for her work on Juno and 2010 for her work on The Cabinet of Doctor Parnassus . She won the latter.
