Mont Belvieu is a city in Chambers County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city lies at the junction of Highway 146 with Farm Road 1942 in southeast Texas, just north of Interstate 10 , 50 km east of Houston , is km to the southeast about 12 of the Galveston Bay , and 50 km from the Gulf of Mexico away and has a total area of 38.6 km², of which 1.0 km² is water.

According to the 2000 census, 2,324 people lived here in 805 households and 664 families. The population density was 61.8 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 90.96% White, 4.26% African American, 0.69% Native American, 0.43% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, and 2.50% other ethnic groups. About 1.16% were mixed race and 6.50% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 805 households, 49.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 69.2% of them were married couples living together. 8.6% were single mothers and 17.4% were non-families. 15.0% of all households were single households and 4.0% had people living there who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.88 and the average family size was 3.19.
