Montgomery is a census-designated place (CDP) in Chatham County in the US state of Georgia with 4523 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Montgomery is directly bordered to the north and west by the city of Savannah and the city of Vernonburg , which is directly on the other side of the adjacent Vernon River .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 4523 inhabitants at that time were distributed among 1766 inhabited households, which gives an average of 2.56 people per household. There are a total of 1878 households.

70.2% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring) with an average size of 2.98 persons. Children under the age of 18 lived in 31.5% of all households and persons aged 65 or over in 24.2% of all households.

24.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 26.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.5% were 40 to 59 years old, and 19.8% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 51.1% of the population were male and 48.9% were female.
