The Moorbek is a predominantly near-natural brook , which mostly flows north or north-west and forms the border between Ahrensburg in the Stormarn district and Hamburg-Volksdorf over several kilometers and thus the state border between Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein . Together with the Deepenrei ditch, it forms the Lottbek , which flows over the Bredenbek to the Alster .

The Moorbek is named for several streets in the Volksdorf district near the Buchenkamp underground station and the Moorbeckswiesen (sic!). Almost its entire length of the stream is accompanied by hiking trails that run almost continuously near the stream.
