The Morge is a right tributary of the Rhone around 20 kilometers long . It rises from the Tsanfleuron glacier and only a little later includes the Contheysanne and the Tsanfleuronne . Their source areas are in the wider area of the Sanetsch Pass . Only a little later the Nétage joins the Morge. In its course it takes on numerous, mostly small torrents. The longest is the Rogne , which has its headwaters on Mont Gond ( 2709.9  m ).

Above the confluence of the Nétage, water has been drawn from the Morge for the Bisse du Torrent-Neuf since the 1880s , which leads over 11 kilometers to Savièse .

In its lower reaches, it passes the municipality of Conthey . In the district of Pont-de-la-Morge , a small watercourse and a bisse from the Lac du Mont d'Orge flow towards it. From here it runs in a straightened river bed to the confluence with the Rhône.

The Morge forms the border between the districts of Conthey and Sion along the entire course of the river, with the exception of a small stretch to Conthey .
