Moritz Rosenthal

Moritz Rosenthal (also Moriz Rosenthal ; * 1832 or 1833 in Großwardein ; † December 30, 1889 in Vienna ) was an Austrian neurologist .

Life

Rosenthal, the son of a businessman, began studying botany , chemistry , mineralogy , geognosy and paleontology at the Vienna Polytechnic in 1851 . In 1953 he moved to the University of Vienna to study medicine . His doctorate as Dr. med. took place in 1858, as Dr. chir. as well as the graduation to Mag. obstet. 1859. In 1858 he came to Ludwig Türck's department for nervous diseases in the Vienna General Hospital .

Rosenthal completed his habilitation in 1863 at the University of Vienna and then taught as a private lecturer in electrotherapy and neuropathology. He was promoted to associate professor for nervous diseases in 1875. At the same time, he came to the electrotherapy clinic with Moriz Benedikt . Under him this was converted into an outpatient clinic for the nervous. He was its director from 1883 to 1888.
