Morteza Tavakoli

Morteza Tavakoli (born March 22, 1982 in Tehran , Iran ) is an Austrian film actor .

Life

Born in Tehran in Iran, Morteza Tavakoli came to Austria with his parents at the age of five in 1987. At that time, the Gulf War was raging in Iran . In addition to the German language , Tavakoli also speaks fluent Farsi and English . He has lived in Vienna since childhood .

Even as a child he was at times an actor in small supporting roles on the Viennese theater stages. In 1991 his first minor film role followed in the comedy film I Love Vienna . He played his first leading role in the 2002 film drama Rocco , directed by Houchang Allahyari . From 2003 to 2005 studied Tavakoli on the famous Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York City drama .

In 2007 he won the prestigious Obie Award with The Living Theater for the play "The Brig" .

In Austria Tavakoli 2008 was in The Last Judgment on the side of Tobias Moretti and Christoph Waltz and 2009 controversially discussed television crime scene: Tree of Redemption on camera. Since 2009 he can be seen alongside Ursula Strauss in the crime series Schnell Determined as Turkish computer analyst Kemal Öztürk . From 2012 to 2013 he was part of the crime series Janus , in which he played the research assistant Sebastian Afshar .

In 2014 he took part as a candidate in the ORF- produced show Dancing Stars .

In 2015 he founded the Acting Center Tavakoli, where he has been teaching acting ever since.
