The moses. Verlag is a publishing house based in Kempen on the Lower Rhine .
history
The publishing house was founded in 1991 by the illustrator and graphic artist Jürgen Pankarz as 'Edition moses'. Gerd Herterich, previously responsible for the customer club at IKEA , has been a managing partner at the publishing house since 1995. The first moses. Title was the picture book A Bear Goes Hunting . Later published the moses. Publisher the Becherlupen-Buch, the Internet Guide for Schoolchildren, Pocket Quiz and Black Stories .
Name of the publisher
The name of the publisher has no biblical background, but refers to the nickname of Jürgen Pankarz, whose trademark has been a full beard for decades. The cabaret artist friend Hanns Dieter Hüsch dedicated a poem to him with the line “Moses in the mill”.
Program focus
Games, non-fiction books for children, non-books and merchandise items, gifts, accessories for everything to do with books.
The Black Stories game series by Holger Bösch has been published since 2004.
