Mryn ( Ukrainian Мрин ; Russian Мрин Mrin , Polish Mryn ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast of Chernihiv with about 1870 inhabitants (2016) and an area of 5.38 km².
The village, founded at the end of the 16th century and first mentioned in writing at the beginning of the 17th century, received Magdeburg law on May 25, 1647 .
At Mryn, at a depth of more than 400 meters, is by far the largest gas storage facility in Europe. The Ukrtransgaz SE fed every year 1.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the natural cavity with a capacity of 14 x 6.5 km there is a.
Geographical location
The village is located at an altitude of 117 m on the banks of the Oster ( Остер ), a 199 km long tributary of the Desna in the north of Nossivka district , 16 km north of the district center of Nossivka and 63 km south of the center of Chernihiv .
