The municipality Huayllamarca (also: Santiago de Huayllamarca ) is a district in the Oruro department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of Huayllamarca is the only municipality in the province of Nor Carangas . It is bordered to the north by the La Paz department , to the west by the province of San Pedro de Totora , to the south by the province of Carangas , to the southeast by the province of Saucarí , and to the northeast by the province of Cercado .
The central place of the municipality and the most populous place is Huayllamarca (also: Santiago de Huayllamarca ) with 352 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the northwestern part of the district.

Huayllamarca is located between the Andean mountain ranges of the Cordillera Oriental and the Cordillera Occidental in the Andean dry climate of the Altiplano .
The mean annual precipitation is about 330 mm and falls 80 percent in the months of December to March (see climate diagram). The annual average temperature is just under +8 ° C, the monthly average values fluctuate between +4 ° C in June / July and around +10 ° C from November to March.
