Saucarí is a province in the central part of the Oruro department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
location
The Saucarí province is one of sixteen provinces in the Oruro department. It lies between 17 ° 50 'and 18 ° 47' south latitude and between 66 ° 47 'and 67 ° 17' west longitude .
It borders in the north and east on the province of Cercado , in the northwest on the province of Nor Carangas , in the west on the province Carangas , in the south on the province Sud Carangas and in the southeast on the province Poopó .
The province extends over 40 kilometers in east-west and over 115 kilometers in north-south direction.

The population of the province of Saucarí has almost doubled over the past two decades:

The province's most important idioms are Spanish and Aymara , spoken by 84 and 83 percent of the population, respectively, and Quechua by 37 percent. ( 2001 )
82 percent of the population have no access to electricity, 96 percent live without sanitary facilities ( 1992 ).
75.2 percent of the workforce work in agriculture, 2.6 percent in mining, 5.6 percent in industry, 16.6 percent in the service sector ( 2001 ).
83 percent of the population are Catholic, 14 percent are Protestant ( 1992 ).
