The Municipio San Lorenzo (also: Villa San Lorenzo ) is a district in the Tarija Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of San Lorenzo is the eastern of the two municipalities of the province of Eustaquio Méndez . It borders on the Chuquisaca Department in the north, the Municipio El Puente in the west , the Province of Cercado in the southeast , and the Province of Burnet O'Connor in the east .
The central place of the district is the rural town of San Lorenzo with 3,401 inhabitants ( 2012 ) in the southern part of the municipality.

The municipality of San Lorenzo is located on the southeastern edge of the plateau of the Bolivian Altiplano on the transition to the lowlands. Because of the inland location, the climate is dry for more than half of the year, but far less harsh than the plateau and has a typical daytime climate, in which the temperature fluctuations between day and night are usually significantly greater than the seasonal fluctuations (see climate diagram Tarija).
The annual average temperature is 19 ° C and fluctuates only slightly between 15 ° C in June / July and 22 ° C from December to February. The annual precipitation is about 550 mm, with a strongly pronounced dry season from April to October with monthly precipitation below 30 mm, and a humidity period from December to February with over 100 mm monthly precipitation.

The population density of the municipality at the 2012 census was 11.9 inhabitants / km². The proportion of the urban population was 14.4 percent, the life expectancy of newborns in 2001 was 62.7 years.
The literacy rate among those over 19 is 63 percent, namely 73 percent for men and 53 percent for women ( 2001 ).
