Burnet O'Connor (also: Burdet O'Connor ) is a province in the northern part of the Tarija Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia . The province is named after General Francisco Burdett O'Connor , chronicler of the South American War of Independence and the creation of Tarija .
location
The province of Burnet O'Connor is one of six provinces in the Tarija department. It lies between 20 ° 53 'and 21 ° 58' south latitude and between 63 ° 36 'and 64 ° 26' west longitude .
The province is bordered by the Chuquisaca Department in the north, the Eustaquio Méndez Province in the northwest, the Cercado Province in the west, the Aniceto Arce Province in the southwest , and the Gran Chaco Province in the south and east .
The province extends over a length of 140 kilometers in north-south direction and over 100 kilometers in east-west direction.

89.5 percent of the population have no access to electricity , 84.5 percent live without sanitary facilities ( 1992 ).
51.6 percent of those in employment work in agriculture , 14.6 percent in mining , 7.0 percent in industry , and 26.8 percent in the service sector ( 2001 ).
89.9 percent of the population are Catholic , 4.0 percent are Protestant ( 1992 ).
