The Municipio Sicaya is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of Sicaya is one of three municipalities in the province of Capinota . It borders the province of Arque to the west and south , the municipality of Capinota to the east , and the province of Quillacollo to the north .

The central place of the municipality is Sicaya with 857 inhabitants in the central part of the municipality. (2012 census)

geography

The Municipio Sicaya stretches along the central reaches of the Río Arque and lies between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west, the Cordillera Central in the south and the Cordillera Oriental in the north and northeast.

The climate is a typical daytime climate in which the temperature fluctuations between day and night are more pronounced than the temperature differences between summer and winter.
