Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. It is slightly hairy cobwebs. The bronze-colored young leaves are almost hairless and shiny.
  • The medium-sized, thick leaves are rounded, five-lobed and clearly but not deeply indented. The stalk bay is closed like a lyre. The blade is bluntly serrated. The teeth are set wide in comparison to the grape varieties. The leaf surface (also called blade) is slightly blistered.
  • The cylindrical to conical grape is hardly shouldered, medium-sized and has dense berries. The round berries are medium-sized and golden yellow in color. The skin of the berry is thick. The aroma of the juicy berry is fine and has an aromatic bouquet with a delicate nutmeg taste.

The berries ripen about 10 days after those of the Gutedel . According to international standards, it is still considered to ripen early.

The grape variety is susceptible to powdery mildew and gray mold rot . It shows itself to be resistant to light winter frosts. Due to the density of berries in the grapes, the variety is difficult to market commercially.
