Muskö is a place ( Tatort ) in the municipality of Haninge and the center of Socken Muskö . It is located on the island of Muskö in the Stockholm archipelago .
The place is the center of the main island and lies to the east and north of the church of Muskö . On the island is the Muskö naval port , one of the largest underground naval bases in the world.
The route from the mainland to the island of Muskö leads through the three-kilometer-long Muskötunnel , which was opened in 1964 . On the island there are buses from Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL). This bus route existed before the tunnel was built. The road network at the time was pretty primitive. The yellow buses were particularly narrow and particularly suitable for the unpaved roads on the island.
In the northwest of the village center is Ludvigsbergs herrgård , now a hotel and restaurant.
Parts of the bow hatch of the submerged M / S Estonia are kept in the Maritime History Museum in Muskö .
