Jordbro is a village ( Tatort ) in the Swedish municipality of Haninge in the province of Stockholm County on the Södertörn peninsula . In 2015, Jordbro had 10,757 residents.
The place was created as one of the many construction projects during the Swedish million dollar program . In the vicinity of the train station there are residential areas from the 1960s and 1970s, and outside the center there are more recent single-family houses. The railway line ( Nynäsbanan ) divides the place in two halves.
Industry is concentrated in a large business park in the west. Warehouses and businesses of various sizes are located here. Among other things, the Swedish headquarters and a bottling plant for Coca-Cola as well as distribution centers for Osram and Åhléns are located in the park.
The area around Jordbro is dominated by the Hanveden forest to the west. To the south is the Jordbro burial ground with graves that are mostly dated between 500 BC and 500 AD. To the east, the autobahn-like Reichsweg 73 leads past the village and to the north the village of Handen is separated by a forest and a country road .
The director Rainer Hartleb has captured the lives of various Jordbro residents in several documentaries. He started in 1973 with the film Från en barndomsvärld (“From a childhood world”) and has now completed the seventh film Alla mår bra (“Everyone is fine”). For the film En pizza i Jordbro ("A Pizza in Jordbro") from 1994 he received the Swedish Guldbagge film award .
