myAcker.com is an online portal for creating and managing a real vegetable garden via the Internet. The company headquarters of the associated myAcker GmbH is in Möllbrücke , the arable land itself in Mühldorf . According to the platform's recording, 1284 registered online gardeners were identified and 35,143 work steps carried out in January 2019 .

history

In December 2015, Christoph Raunig and Patrick Kleinfercher founded the myAcker project. After a successful test season, myAcker.com OG went live on the platform in spring 2017. Customers were limited to 25 in order to further optimize the processes in the field and to test the system of an online garden under real conditions. Building on the experiences and optimizations from 2017, the platform was launched across Austria for 2018. As pioneers in remote gardening, myAcker GmbH founded 2.5 hectares of arable land and started the 2018 season with over 400 gardens with the broadcast in the Puls4 format 2 Minuten 2 Mio. With the 2019 season, the startup expanded by another field in the Netherlands. There, on 8 hectares of land under the name "Mijn Boerderijtje" (My little farm) in Woudenberg (province of Utrecht ), the online vegetable gardens for the Dutch are being created. With the cooperation partners on site, animals are also included in the myAcker system and the virtual farm concept is expanded to include cows, chickens, goats and bees.

concept

The users register on the site and rent a garden online. You get this as displayed in a computer game and so you can plant it as you like. At the same time, the virtual piece of garden is created in the real field and planted according to the user specifications. A specially developed algorithm ensures that the user receives all important information about the garden in real time ( soil moisture , pest infestation , climatic conditions , ripening progress, etc.) and is thus able to give the employees in the field instructions on garden maintenance. The electronics record the ripening progress of the fruits and inform the user when fruits are to be harvested. The employee on the field implements all work steps and ultimately sends the customer his own vegetables by post.

Employee

In addition to Christoph Raunig and Patrick Kleinfercher as managing directors of myAcker GmbH and head of the project, Leo Hillinger is also invested in the startup. In addition, myAcker GmbH employs a vegetable grower (full-time) and an office worker (part-time) as well as some harvest workers.
