Nöthnitz is a village in the municipality of Bannewitz in the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains , Saxony .

location

Nöthnitz , part of the Bannewitz district, is located north of the main town on the Nöthnitzbach , a tributary of the Kaitzbach , in its own area . The federal highway 170 runs through the village , in the north of the district Nöthnitz there is the junction Dresden-Südvorstadt on the Autobahn 17 .

The village was first mentioned in 1288 as "Netenicz". The place name is of Old Sorbian origin and means "cattle yard". The forms "Neteritz", "Nedens" and "Nötitz" are guaranteed for the 15th to 17th centuries. Nöthnitz was a hamlet around a knight seat formed later settled cottagers on the 88 hectares: large (as of 1842) block the hallway to. In 1453 the property was transferred from the diocese of Meißen to the Saxon elector, who gave it to noble families as a fief . In the 16th century, Nöthnitz belonged to the Lockwitz manor . From 1540 at the latest, the village and the Vorwerk in neighboring Rosentitz were awarded, so the landlords are each identical. Nöthnitz Castle was built around 1630 . In terms of church, Rosentitz initially belonged to the parish of the (old) Dresden Frauenkirche , since 1670 it has been parish to Leubnitz . Around 1900 there were 35 houses in Nöthnitz. The manor, which included 246 hectares of land, remained independent as an estate district until 1914. In the 19th century, Rosentitz was added to the rural community of Nöthnitz, which in 1923 was again incorporated into Bannewitz.
