use

N , N '-di- o -tolylguanidine is used as a vulcanization accelerator and primary titre substance , as well as an intermediate for organic syntheses.

N , N ′ -di- o -tolylguanidine is not itself carcinogenic, but may still contain o -toluidine , which is carcinogenic, due to the manufacturing process . If the content of o- toluidine exceeds 0.1 percent , the mixture must therefore be regarded as carcinogenic.
