NGC 1850 is a young, massive star cluster ( blue globular star cluster ) in the bar of the large magellanic cloud in the constellation Dorado . It therefore belongs to a class of objects that does not exist in our Milky Way . NGC 1850 is quite compact, has many members, and is one of the brightest star clusters in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Its age is estimated to be around 50 million years. It houses the very young subcluster NGC 1850A . The object was discovered by James Dunlop on August 3, 1826 .
