NMZS [ ˈnɛməzɪs ], bourgeois Jakob Wich (born November 28, 1984 in Düsseldorf ; † March 20, 2013 there ), was a German rapper and member of the Düsseldorf antelope gang . His style was thoughtful, self-deprecating and humorous, shaped by the influences of freestyle and battle rap .

Musical career

NMZS said it was shaped in its youth by the music of the Fantastischen Vier and found its way to hip-hop early on via the freestyle meeting of the youth center Icklack in Düsseldorf- Flingern .

In 2004 NMZS formed the “WDR Crew” with Gabo and Total as well as DJ Zarok and producer Scoobie Drum and released the EP Wenn Dann Richtig . The formation toured North Rhine-Westphalia and gave their farewell concert in November 2006. As early as 2005, NMZS developed the “Anti Everything Action” (AAA) with rappers Koljah, Panik Panzer, Danger Dan , Lea-Won and Tai Phun. His first solo album was also created in this context: Trash was released in 2007 and offered for download free of charge on its website. The following year the EP Robopommes was released . The success of the solo publications remained low. In 2008 the album L'avantgarde was released with Koljah and Tai Phun . NMZS toured many alternative youth centers with the “Anti Alles Aktion”.

After the dissolution of the AAA in 2009 he founded a new formation, the "Antilopen Gang", with Koljah, Panik Panzer and Danger Dan. The musicians' first album was released in 2010: Spastik Desaster received significantly more media attention than previous publications by the rappers, mainly because of the Internet hit Fick die Uni . The song also found its way into the soundtrack of the film Pixel Shades by Anil Kunnel . In 2011 the "Antilopen" NMZS and Koljah produced the album Motto Mobbing . In the same year NMZS 'solo album Egotrip was released . He turned against homophobic tendencies in the hip-hop scene with the track Go Homo .

NMZS made many appearances with the Antilopen Gang in German-speaking countries, especially at the "Tortur Tour 2011". The Antilopen Gang published elaborately produced video clips on their YouTube channel. With their track Fick die Industrie they turned against the music industry and relied on free downloads. On June 6, 2012, NMZS participated in Rap On Wednesday . After other projects, the album Aschenbecher by NMZS and Danger Dan was recently released . The much acclaimed work with "a clever social criticism about the 'cultural ashtray" "sold relatively well and was also offered for free download.

On March 22, 2013, the antelope gang reported that NMZS had committed suicide on March 20, 2013. The artist was "severely depressed". Rap magazines, forums and blogs reported on the death of the 28-year-old.

Two weeks after the rapper's death, the Antilopen Gang announced that they would be releasing an already fully recorded album entitled The Disgusting by NMZS. The album was produced by Pitlab, the musical content was chosen by NMZS itself.

On August 17, 2013, a memorial concert entitled “Tribute to NMZS” took place in the Zakk in Düsseldorf, and on November 28, 2013 - his 29th birthday - the album Der EkelIGE was released posthumously as a free download.
