The NSU 1¼ tonner was a small truck that Neckarsulmer Fahrzeugwerke Aktiengesellschaft built between 1914 and 1918. It was developed from the 13/35 hp car model .

The water-cooled engine was a four-cylinder block engine with a displacement of 3397 cm³ (bore × stroke = 97 × 115 mm), which made 35 hp (26 kW) at 1800 rpm. The engine had a triple bearing crankshaft, double ignition ( magnet and battery ), pressure circulation lubrication and counter-controlled valves . The fuel tank was in the back. The fuel was conveyed through the exhaust gases, with part of the exhaust gases being led into the tightly closed tank, creating a slight overpressure there and thus ensuring that the fuel flowed forward to the carburetor. The engine power was transmitted to the rear wheels via a multi-disc clutch in an oil bath, a four-speed gearbox with a link shift on the right and a cardan shaft . The wheelbase of the cars was 3200 mm, their track width was 1375 mm and the curb weight was approx. 1350 kg. The top speed was around 35 km / h.

The fully rubber-tired wagon was available as a flatbed wagon, some with bows and tarpaulin or as a closed box wagon and was only built for the army . In addition to gasoline, it could also be operated with a gasoline-benzene mixture, which was very important with the gasoline shortage during the war. With the end of the First World War its production was stopped.
