The NSU 6/10 PS was a lower mid-range car that Neckarsulmer Fahrzeugwerke Aktiengesellschaft built in 1906 and 1907. It was the first four-wheeled car of its own construction that the company manufactured.
The plant had already started to manufacture larger cars under license from Pipe in 1905, but hoped a smaller car of its own design would offer better market opportunities. The 6/10 PS was marketed as the "Original Neckarsulm Motor Car".
The water-cooled engine was a four-cylinder in- line engine with a displacement of 1420 cm³ (bore × stroke = 68 × 90 mm), which made 12 hp (8.8 kW) at 1650 rpm. This engine had high voltage magneto ignition , automatic pump lubrication and overhead valves . The power was transmitted to the rear wheels via a leather cone clutch, a three-speed gearbox with a right-hand gate shift and a cardan shaft . The wheelbase of the two-seater was 2000 mm, its track width 1150 mm and its weight 600 kg. The four-seater had a 440 mm longer wheelbase. The maximum speed was 55-60 km / h.
In 1907 the 6/12 hp replaced this model.
