The NSU 7/34 PS was a middle class passenger car that NSU Automobil AG built between 1928 and 1931. It was the successor to the short-lived 6/30 hp model .

The water-cooled engine was a six-cylinder in- line engine , with a displacement of 1781 cm³ (bore × stroke = 62 × 99 mm), which made 34 hp (25 kW) at 3200 / min. This engine had a four-bearing crankshaft, battery ignition , pressure circulation lubrication and standing valves in an L-cylinder head. The fuel tank was in the back. The fuel was pumped forward into the carburetor by a vacuum. The engine power was transmitted to the rear wheels via a multi-disc clutch in an oil bath, a three-speed gearbox with center shift and a cardan shaft . The wheelbase of the cars was 2815 mm - 2935 mm for cabs -, their track width was 1250 mm and their weight was 1040–1210 kg. The top speed was around 90 km / h.

Every day 22 cars were built in the Heilbronn branch . However, sales were sluggish; most of the vehicles in Berlin were operated as cabs . NSU had agreed with Fiat at the end of 1928 to stop building automobiles. The production of this last NSU car model ran under Fiat aegis as "Model 405".

In 1931 Fiat stopped building this model and only built its own models in Heilbronn under the brand name NSU-Fiat .
