The Naßwiesengraben is an floodplain ditch connecting the Altmühl in the area of the town of Gunzenhausen in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia . It drains the shallow, right-hand floodplain of the river near the bank. On the left side of the Altmühl, the Auengraben Luisengraben and Meierlachgraben drain .
The stream occurs at a height of 412 m above sea level. NN southeast of Aha and west of Unterasbach from a loop of oxbows and stretches for about 1.2 kilometers in a southeast direction parallel to Altmühl and the Treuchtlingen – Würzburg railway line through the wide open landscape of the wide floodplain . There is a small connection to the Pflaumfelder Graben . The water flows southwest of Unterasbach and not far from the municipal boundary to Dittenheim at an altitude of 412 m above sea level. NN from the right into another loop of the Altmühl.
Like the Altmühl, which runs parallel, the Naßwiesengraben falls less than a meter in altitude on its way, which is why the water drains off very slowly. After heavy rains the landscape is flooded by the Altmühl.
