Nadjeschda Gisela "Nani" Ilmberger (born October 28, 1996 in Bamberg ) is a German basketball player .

career

Ilmberger is the daughter of the former Bundesliga players Bernd Montag and Angelika Ilmberger . With the U15 team of DJK Don Bosco Bamberg , she became German runner-up in June 2010. Since the 2010/11 season she was under coach Janet Fowler-Michel in the WNBL squad of the "Team Oberfranken", in May 2012 the team reached fourth place in the junior Bundesliga after a 65:70 defeat in the small final. In the adult sector, the centerwoman gained further experience as a double licensed player from the 2011/12 season with Bamberg II and at SC Kemmern from 2013/14 in the fourth-class Bayernliga and from 2014/15 with Kemmern in the third-class regional league.

In the summer of 2014, Ilmberger was accepted into the second division squad of the Bamberg DJK women together with Sandra Schrüfer , Nora Duckarm and Anne-Katrin Landwehr . In the 2nd DBBL Süd the team took first place and failed in the final series with 1: 2 victories (61:66, 65:56, 51:64) due to the Rutronik Stars Keltern . Ilmberger averaged just under 19 minutes of play this season, as well as 6.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. In order to start studying at the University of Freiburg , the 190 cm tall indoor player moved to the 1st DBBL at Eisvögel USC Freiburg in August 2015 .

With Freiburg, she also competed in the European club competition CEWL in the 2016/17 season. After two years in Freiburg, Ilmberger accepted an offer from Bundesliga competitor TV Saarlouis during the summer break of 2017 .

On June 11, 2020, the XCYDE Angels Nördlingen announced the commitment of Ilmberger for the 2020/21 season .

National team

Ilmberger took part in the U16 European Championship in summer 2012 and in the U20 European Championship in 2016. At the tournament that was held in Portugal in July 2016 , she was the second-best German scorer with an average of 7.1 points and was the leader in the selection of the German Basketball Federation with 7.4 rebounds per match . At the end of July 2017, she played her first international match.
