The 1st women's basketball league 2020/21 is the 50th season of the top German division in women's basketball . The main round is expected to start on October 24, 2020 and will be in mid-March 2021 with the 22nd and final matchday. This is followed by the final round of the eight best teams for the German championship, which is played as a play-off series.
Since the previous season was canceled before the last match day, the DBBL decided that the teams from the previous season will start.

Main round
The main round of the 2020/21 season will be played between October 2020 and March 2021. The eight best teams qualified for the subsequent play-offs , the teams in positions eleven and twelve are relegated directly to the 2nd Bundesliga . In the event of a tie, the direct comparison decides on the placements.
