German women's basketball championship 1971

The finals for the 25th German Women's Basketball Championship in 1971 took place on May 20, 1971 in Göttingen and six days later in Düsseldorf . The defending champion 1. SC Göttingen 05 prevailed against ATV Düsseldorf with 133: 132 points (82:62 in the first leg and 51:70 in the second leg). 1. SC Göttingen 05 qualified as German champions for the European Champion Clubs' Cup 1971/72.

According to the decision of the Bundestag of the German Basketball Federation (DBB) in Bad Kreuznach in 1970, a two-track basketball league for women with eight teams each was introduced for the 1971/72 season.
