Narusawa ( Japanese 鳴 沢 村 , - mura ) is a small community in Yamanashi Prefecture in central Japan .
geography
The village lies between the northern foot of Mount Fuji and the southern foot of Ashiwada .
The community has 2944 inhabitants (as of October 1, 2019) and belongs to the district of South Tsuru (Minamitsuru).
The municipality of Fujikawaguchiko extends to the north and west , Fujiyoshida to the east and Fujinomiya to the south . On the summit of Mount Fuji, Narusawa also meets Oyama at one point .
history
The community was established on July 1, 1899. In 1899, the northeastern tip of the municipality was spun off as an independent municipality Ōarashi ( 大 嵐 村 , -mura ), which is now part of Fujikawaguchiko after various incorporations.
Attractions
In the community are the "Fuji Museum Narusawa" ( な る さ わ 富士山 博物館 , Narusawa Fujisan Hakubutsukan , Eng. Narusawa Mt. Fuji Museum ) and the "Automobile and Aviation Museum Kawaguchiko" ( 河口湖 自動 車 博物館 ・ 飛行 舘 , Kawaguchiko Jidōsha Hakubutsukan / Hikōkan , English Kawaguchiko Motor Museum / Fighter Museum ) with vehicles since 1886 and fighter planes of the Japanese air forces from World War II to the present day.
The Aokigahara Forest extends over the municipal area, which also includes the Narusawa Ice Cave .
traffic
Narusawa is on National Road 139 , which leads to Fuji and Okutama Township .
There is no connection to the rail network. The nearest stop is Fujikawaguchiko.
education
There is a primary school in Narusawa . The Kawaguchiko-South Middle School is operated together with the Fujikawaguchiko community.
