Nathaniel Méchaly (* 1972 ) is a French film composer.

Life

Méchaly first attended the Conservatoire National de Marseille, later the Conservatoire de Paris and the Conservatory of Bologna , where he studied cello , chamber music and electro-acoustic composition. As a film composer, he first appeared in a film documentary in 1996. This was followed by work for television, including for themed evenings on ARTE , as well as for advertising and short films. Since 2001 he has also worked for feature films, including several productions by Luc Besson . He worked several times with the Lebanese composer Gabriel Yared . In 2009 he received a BMI Film Music Award for his film music for 96 Hours , followed by the award for the second part in 2013. In 2014 he won a Hong Kong Film Award . He also writes music for theater and modern dance .
