National Maritime Conference
The National Maritime Conference (NMK) is a series of events organized by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) on maritime issues and interests in Germany . It is organized, hosted and directed by the Federal Government's Maritime Coordinator and focuses on topics relating to shipbuilding , port management , shipping and marine technology , offshore topics and climate and environmental protection . The first National Maritime Conference in Emden was opened on June 13, 2000 by the then Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder . Further conference locations were Warnemünde (2001), Lübeck (2003), Bremen (2005), Hamburg (2006), Rostock (2009), Wilhelmshaven (2011), Kiel (2013), Bremerhaven (2015), Hamburg (2017) and Friedrichshafen ( 2019).
