Ahauser Klippen und Stausee is a nature reserve (NSG) in the city of Attendorn and in the municipality of Finnentrop in the Olpe district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It is east of the core town of Attendorn. Most of the area is in the territory of the municipality of Finnentrop. The area is divided into two parts by the state road 539 . Parts of the Ahaus reservoir belong to the NSG. The 23.92 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve since 2003. The NSG belongs in part as one of ten sub-areas of the fauna-flora-habitat area to beech forests, limestone semi -dry grasslands and rocks south of Finnentrop (DE-4813-301).

Habitats and species

In addition to the limestone cliffs with crevice vegetation and parts of the reservoir, there are forest areas in the protected area. The forest areas are winter linden-hornbeam rubble forest, orchid-calcareous beech forest, woodruff beech forest, ravine and mixed slope forests.

The eagle owl breeds in the nature reserve .
