Bulmecke nature reserve

The Bulmecke nature reserve with a size of 0.4 ha is located in the municipality of Herscheid south of the Bulmecke settlement . The nature reserve (NSG) was designated in 1998 by the Märkischer Kreis with the landscape plan No. 5 Herscheid .

Area description

NSG is a forest area with a spring which mainly consists of black alder and ash. There is a large collection of Märzenbecher in the NSG.

Protection purpose

According to the nature reserve designation, the area was designated a nature reserve for the preservation, development and restoration of a forest area with a spring with a specially adapted flora and fauna. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
