Nature reserve Im Wiebruch in front of the Friedlin settlement from the north

The Im Wiebruch nature reserve with a size of 3 hectares is located in the municipality of Herscheid north of the Friedlin settlement . The nature reserve (NSG) consists of two areas, the western one being significantly larger than the other. In 1998 the NSG was designated by the Märkischer Kreis with the landscape plan No. 5 Herscheid .

Area description

The NSG is mainly about grassland, fallow land and forest. The Friedliner Bach flows through the NSG .

Protection purpose

According to the nature reserve designation, the area was designated a nature reserve for the maintenance, development and restoration of a structurally rich biotope complex with adapted flora and fauna. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
