Schlänke nature reserve

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Schlänke nature reserve is a 0.6 hectare nature reserve east of Brüninghausen Castle in the urban area of Plettenberg in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated in 1985 by the district council of the Märkisches Kreis with the landscape plan No. 1 (Plettenberg-Herscheid-Neuenrade) . The name was the nature reserve Märzenbechergebiet "Schlänke" between Stübel and Steinklapper northeast of "Haus Brünninghausen", town of Plettenberg . With the 2nd amendment to landscape plan No. 1 (Plettenberg-Herscheid-Neuenrade), the NSG was designated again in 2012 and renamed the Schlänke nature reserve .

Area description

The NSG is a woodruff - red beech forest with occurrences of Märzenbeche . The NSG is located on the middle and lower slopes of a north-facing, slightly inclined mountain slope.

Protection purpose

The nature reserve was designated as a habitat for rare and endangered animal and plant species for the preservation and development of a deciduous forest with occurrences of Märzenbecher. As with other nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area became a nature reserve “because of its scenic beauty and uniqueness”.

Under special prohibitions , the landscape plan stated “to use the indigenous forest areas for forestry purposes; the exception is the use of individual logs according to the provisions of the Lower Landscape Authority ”.
