The Siesel nature reserve - sub-area Lenne is an 18.2  hectare nature reserve (NSG) near the Lenneflussschleife near Siesel in the urban area of Plettenberg in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated in 2012 by the district council of the Märkisches Kreis with the 2nd amendment to the landscape plan No. 1 (Plettenberg-Herscheid-Neuenrade). The NSG is mostly bordered in the north by the Ruhr-Sieg railway line . In the Lenneschleife, the Siesel industrial park borders in the north. In the south there is forest or grassland. The Siesel nature reserve - Humme sub-area is only separated from the NSG by the railway line. The federal road 236 (B 236) separates the NSG from the Siesel nature reserve - Jungfernsprung sub-area . The Siesel nature reserve - Auf dem Pütte sub-area is approximately 450 m north.

The area of ​​the nature reserve has been part of the FFH area "Lennealtarm Siesel" (DE-4713-301) with an area of ​​39 hectares since 2004 .

Area description

The NSG is the Lenne with parts of the floodplain there . The kingfisher occurs.

Protection purpose

The nature reserve was designated for the preservation and development of a near-natural section of the Lenne, including its bank vegetation, as well as the beech forest there and as a habitat for rare endangered animal and plant species. As with other nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area became a nature reserve “because of its scenic beauty and uniqueness”.

Under special prohibitions in the landscape plan u. a. listed “to remove the riparian wood; to use the indigenous forest areas (Hainsimsen-Buchenwald) for forestry purposes; the exception is the use of individual logs according to the provisions of the Lower Landscape Authority ”.
