Neftali Feliz Antonio (born May 2, 1988 in Azua de Compostela , Azua , Dominican Republic ) is a Dominican baseball player in the major league . He currently plays with the Milwaukee Brewers as Closer .

Career

Feliz was signed as a free agent by the Atlanta Braves in 2005 . In July 2007 he was transferred to the Texas Rangers along with other players and initially played in the minor leagues . On August 2, 2009 he was called to the Rangers team for the first time and made his MLB debut the next day as a relief pitcher with two innings and four strikeouts. Shortly after the 2010 season began , the Rangers made him closer. In his first full year in the MLB, he was appointed to the All-Star Team of the American League , but was not used there. Feliz achieved 40 saves in the regular season - more than any other rookie before. The previous record holder was Kazuhiro Sasaki of the Seattle Mariners , who recorded 37 saves as a rookie in the 2000 season. In the 2010 post season he secured the Rangers ' first entry into the World Series with three outs in Game 6 of the Championship Series against the New York Yankees . In their game 3 against the San Francisco Giants , he secured a 4-2 victory for the Rangers, making him the second youngest player to score a save in a World Series. He was named Rookie of the Year in the American League for his accomplishments during the season .

After being traded to the Detroit Tigers in 2015 , he joined the Pittsburgh Pirates for the 2016 season . On January 19, 2017, he signed a one-year contract with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Feliz has been married to Karina Gomez since December.
